JCW SilenceCem is a high-performance fibre cement board designed for use in modern floor and ceiling constructions. Developed as a strong, safe and durable alternative to plywood and plasterboard, it provides a stable, non-combustible and moisture-resistant substrate for ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles.
Manufactured to meet today’s building standards, JCW SilenceCem delivers superior waterproofing, full A1 fire resistance and excellent load-bearing strength. Unlike traditional boards, it will not swell, rot or warp, maintaining stability even when exposed to moisture and extreme temperatures.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, the board is fully weatherproof and UV resistant, offering long-term reliability across residential and commercial projects including domestic dwellings, offices, hotels, leisure centres, schools and restaurants.

Installation Guidance
Cutting:
Score and snap using a fibre cement knife, or cut with a circular saw fitted with dust extraction.
Fixing:
Fix using 25mm cement board screws to timber floors at 250mm centres, or in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
Adhesive:
Use a cement-based flexible tile adhesive to bond boards to the substrate.
Primer:
Apply SBR primer where specified by the adhesive manufacturer.
Joints:
Tape all joints with alkali-resistant mesh tape to prevent cracking.
